Description
Building Bridges: Conversations about Race
Race and Oregon History
Thursday September 19, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM
Oregon City Library Community Room
Come explore Oregon’s racially biased history and engage with the community in healing and building of bridges. This session kicks off our six month program exploring race, relationships, and community engagement through healing and connection. You can expect to learn, connect, and speak your truth in a space that is welcoming and rigorous.
Third Thursdays | September–February | 5:00–7:00pm
Building Bridges is a program series meant to encourage an understanding of racism, racial identity, and how race impacts society. By bridging some of the divides that exist when it comes to talking about race, this series will encourage a deeper understanding of participant’s own experiences with racial identity. The topics explored will provide opportunities for participants to think critically, reflect, learn, internalize, and engage meaningfully with others in their community. Our program series will be led by longtime educator, activist, and Oregon native Alexis Braly.
