Description
If you have an interest in Oregon City tourism or your business understands that tourism can have broad ripple effects on a community, you may be interested in this opportunity!
Rolla and Marge Harding are longtime Oregon City heritage enthusiasts and encourage you to help determine if Oregon City is ready to participate in the Portland Rose Festival this year!
Four members of the Rose Festival administration met with Rolla and Marge Harding at their home to talk about Oregon City being recognized as part of this year’s Portland Rose Festival. Their suggestion was for us to establish an Oregon City Heritage Day or weekend around June 24th and also participate in the Grand Floral Parade (June 10th). This could have valuable tourism ripple effects for the City.
This is a tall order as you might imagine! To put this together, we will need the support and physical help of, not only the Oregon City heritage community, but all of Oregon City. For those who are interested and wish to discuss this opportunity, we need to meet ASAP.
A special meeting of the Oregon City Heritage Coordinating Committee will be held tomorrow Thursday, March 2 at 4:30 pm at the Pioneer Center.
If you know of others who might be interested, bring them along. Please let Rolla and Marge (harding1863@comcast.net) know if you or a representative of your organization can attend to discuss this.
